Delete your SayMoney account

You can permanently delete your SayMoney account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how, in line with Google Play's account‑deletion requirements.
Option 1 — Delete inside the app (fastest)
- Open SayMoney → Settings.
- Tap “Delete my data” in the Danger zone.
- Confirm. Your account and data are erased from our active systems.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email (no app needed)
Send an email to info@saymoney.app from the email address linked to your account, with the subject “Account deletion request.” We verify your identity and delete your data within 30 days.
What data is deleted
- Your account (email/authentication) and display name.
- All your transactions, budgets, cards, projects, and informal loans.
- Your settings and preferences.
What may be retained (and for how long)
- Voice recordings: never retained — deleted immediately after processing.
- Backups: residual copies in encrypted backups are isolated and removed on our backup‑rotation schedule (up to 30 days).
- Legal/accounting records: where the law requires us to keep certain records, we retain the minimum necessary for the legally required period.
